STATS FOR STORIES (SFS)

Today 17 is National Tax Day (delayed from April 15 by the IRS). This week is World Trade Week. May is National Bike Month, Older Americans Month, and World Trade Month.

World Trade Week: May 16-22

On April 7, 2021, the monthly FT900 release reported that the goods and services deficit was $71.1 billion in February, up $3.3 billion from $67.8 billion in January, revised.

National Tax Day: May 17

Q4 2020 combined state and local tax revenues for property, sales and gross receipts, and income taxes increased 6.8% to $426.4B from $399.3B in Q4 2019.

Older Americans Month: May

The 2019 American Community Survey estimated there were 54,074,028 people aged 65 and over in the U.S. out of a total population of 328,239,523 or 16.5%.

National Bike Month: May

In 2019, the U.S. Census Bureau estimated that 805,722 workers in the U.S. bicycled to work, down from about 865,000 in 2012 and up from 665,000 in 2007.
