Hot chocolate may be the most popular winter drink, although apple cider and eggnog are stiff competitors. It is hard to beat a mug full of sweet, creamy, chocolatey goodness, especially when it is homemade! And you can dress up the decadent drink even more by flavoring it with a drop of your favorite extract or topping it off with marshmallows, whipped cream, chocolate sauce, or crushed candy canes.
There are so many delicious ways to personalize your hot cocoa. That's why one of my favorite winter activities is making a DIY hot chocolate bar. I love making a batch of my homemade hot chocolate to share, then putting it out with fun mugs and popular topping options. Then everyone can experiment with their own hot cocoa creation! You can check out my hot chocolate charcuterie board for some hot cocoa add-in ideas. This is an excellent treat and activity for a holiday party or Christmas movie night!

Chocolate spheres filled with cocoa mix! Place the sphere into a mug, pour warm milk over it to melt the shell, and then stir it all up to make a delicious mug of cocoa.
