A friend and great cook asked me the other day what I'd be cooking for the big Christmas feast--as in, "tell me everything!" I realized that the meal looks like a near-replica of Thanksgiving (and Easter?), just switching out turkey for tenderloin and sweet potatoes for mashed or roasted. The rest includes an array of stuffed grape leaves, kousa, kibbeh, salads, fatayer, and the trimmings, which in our case means hummus, pickles, olives, labneh.
She wanted to know what dishes I make that she might add to her menu (and I asked her, vice versa...). Let me count the ways!

In the shop, we are still receiving your wonderful holiday orders, thank you! Remember that gifts are welcome among your people whenever they arrive, even if it's in the days following Christmas. So festive and fun as they ring in the new year, including cooking kits and very fine ingredients as the feasting continues!
Bless your hands,
Fatayer.
Fill these savory little yeasted-dough pies with spinach and onion, meat, and more. Ideas abound in my Lebanese Baking book too!
I add garlic to the potatoes while they cook and mash them into the mix. The olive oil is fruity and flavorful, and a squeeze of lemon adds a bright touch.
