The mirror and photos often reveal what the scale hides. ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏
Hey there, If you're only tracking your progress by the scale, you're missing half the story. Your weight can stay the same while your body is changing - a process called body recomposition. That's why progress photos are so important. Take Enoch, for example. After 3 months of coaching, the scale said he was up 3 pounds. But his photos showed he had actually lost 9 pounds of fat and built lean muscle. The pictures told the truth the scale couldn't. | | Or look at Kate. Over 6 months, she lost 13 pounds of fat and gained muscle. The scale barely moved, but her waist shrank and her shape transformed. Without photos, that progress would have been easy to miss.
| | Progress photos keep you motivated and show you the results your hard work is creating — even when the numbers don't change.
Here's a quick checklist on how to take great progress photos: - Find a well-lit spot with a plain background (wall or door).
- Place your phone at chest height on a shelf or tripod.
- Switch to the front (selfie) camera.
- Set a 10-second timer.
- Step back so your whole body is in the frame.
- Tap the camera button, then get into position.
- Make sure the photo is clear and well lit. Adjust if needed.
- Take 8 photos: front (flexed + relaxed), back (flexed + relaxed), left side (flexed + relaxed), right side (flexed + relaxed).
- Double-check each photo is sharp.
- Save them in a folder labeled with the date.
- Retake in the same way every 4 weeks.
It might take a few tries the first time, but once you set it up, the process becomes quick and easy.
