| Hello friends, and welcome to my "What I've been loving" series! This is something I've been wanting to do for awhile, so here we are. The truth is, I started The Almond Eater over 10 years ago, and since then, blogging has changed a lot. I miss writing, and I miss sharing my life with you all. I'm planning to share these emails once a month, so you'll get a glimpse into my life and a few items I've purchased and enjoyed. If you don't care about my life (no offense taken), just don't open the email. You'll still get plenty of tasty food recipes sent to you! LIFE THIS MONTH - The month started out with a coffee date with one of my friends from college. I don't want to sound like a clichรฉ, but now that I have a child, it's quite challenging to meet up with friends whenever. Everything is well planned out in advance. But, I must say, I cherish times with my friends even more now than I used to.
- We got our fall family photos taken and it was a super chill experience. ...not! Ok it wasn't that bad, but we brought Layla along, so imagine Emmy crying off and on and Layla barking the entire time. Super chill! Despite that, we did get a few good photos, which is all I really wanted anyway, so I consider it a win.
- This month I discovered my body prefers matcha over coffee, which is honestly a sad realization. I still drink coffee, but I've been trying to drink matcha more and, simply put, I just feel better when I do. I love making my vanilla bean matcha in the mornings.
- I was invited on a work trip to Chicago a couple weeks ago, and it was awesome getting to connect with so many other creators in real life. Having an online job is weird because you don't have coworkers, and therefore you can go a long time without talking about your job to anyone. So, it was fun getting to chit chat and talk about what people are doing in the world of blogging and Instagram.
- Did your kid(s) dress up for Halloween? Last year, we didn't really do Halloween because Emmy was a baby, but this year she fell in love with it -- specifically with Halloween decorations -- and tonight we're dressing her up as Ms. Rachel because it's a very easy costume and she's a fan.
THINGS I LOVED THIS MONTH - Naoki matcha: This is a new-to-me matcha that I've been using and loving this month. I won't name the brand, but I'd previously been using a different (read: much more expensive) brand, and this one tastes just as good for half the cost.
- Brown jeans: I legitimately feel like a fall fashionista when I wear these. Brown jeans pair perfectly with a crisp white tee or your favorite cream or gray sweater, and these jeans are SO comfy. They run a little large, so I recommend sizing down.
- Parker Pasture's grass-fed, grass finished meat: I try my best to eat organic, and I know the benefits of eating grass-fed, grass-finished beef. Parker Pasture's sent me some of their meat to try, and I swear you can taste the difference -- it tastes high-quality, and I feel better eating it. They're running a special through November 15: FREE shipping + 4 lb. ground beef for FREE with your first order -- a pretty good deal if you ask me.
- Glass air fryer: I'm not entirely sure why this air fryer has so many negative reviews. I bought mine over 6 months ago, use it 1-2 times per week and it still works great and cooks food really well. I read the nonstick air fryers aren't great, so I upgraded to a glass one and I've been loving it!
- Pumpkin candle: Not to sound like the most basic girly (I am), but this pumpkin candle might be the best smelling one I've ever owned. It'll make your whole house smell like pumpkin goodness, and really get you in the fall spirit.
That's it! If you liked this email, let me know, and if you didn't well... that's too bad because I plan on continuing them (at least for now!) Thanks for the support! -Erin |
