The Georgia State Election Board met on Tuesday to discuss whether county election boards have properly addressed voter eligibility challenges and to clarify new rules to ensure a smooth election process.

The board has implemented measures for ballot counting, election certification, and expanding poll watcher access to improve transparency and accuracy.

These efforts are facing criticism, notably from the state and national Democrats, who raised concerns about the rules' potential to delay certification.

Pending court decisions will determine the fate of these new rules, including whether county election boards may conduct "reasonable inquiries" into the election process, even if such inquiries delay certification.
