Latest advice on testing and self-isolation in education settings On Monday 21 February, as part of government guidance for 'Living with COVID-19', the Prime Minister announced the removal of measures put in place in response to the pandemic. To continue reducing the disruption to children and young people's education, the announcement included changes for schools and colleges which are reflected in the following guidance: Find out what the changes mean for education settings Get help buying for schools – free advice and guidance The new 'Get help buying for schools service' enables all state-funded schools and trusts to access free advice and guidance on buying a wide range of goods and services through the DfE's 52 approved frameworks. The service aims to help you get best value for your non-staff spend. To contact the 'Get help buying for schools' procurement team, click 'Request advice and guidance' at the bottom of each of the Find a Framework webpages. Webinars to help schools improve and maintain attendance This webinar series focuses on how a range of schools across the country have maintained or improved their attendance levels, and the approaches they have taken. We've shared some advice and resources to help teachers, families and young people explore these difficult topics and avoid misinformation.
Read and share advice to help talk to pupils about Ukraine Get the Jump – new skills content hub and toolkit 'Get the Jump', a new Skills for Life campaign, will help young people aged 14-19 understand all the education and training choices available to them and how they compare. Please help raise awareness and encourage young people to explore which choices could be right for them. Signpost 14-19 year olds to the new 'Get the Jump' content hub and use the materials in the toolkit wherever you can. National School Breakfast Programme – spaces available The National School Breakfast programme supports schools to provide children with a healthy breakfast at the start of the school day. All participating schools receive 100% subsidised breakfast club provision until the end of July 2022. The offer is available to schools that have 40% or more children in bands A-F of the income deprivation affecting children index (IDACI). Helping schools to deliver excellence in computing The Computing Quality Framework (CQF) is a new, free online tool that helps schools to review their computing provision, identify areas to improve, and access support and resources. Schools can access support from the National Centre for Computing Education's network of Computing Hubs, based at schools across England. |
