Wedding Season

Heartfelt, treasured, beautiful, exciting! That's what wedding ceremonies represent. June kicks off the start of the nation's most popular wedding season. By 2016, the median age at first marriage had risen about two years since 2008, to 30 for men and 28 for women, according to the Census Bureau's Current Population Reports. Explore our high school activity, Educational Attainment and Marriage Age, with your students. Among other things, it will give them the tools to examine the relationship between two quantitative variables over time, the median age when women first marry, and the percentage of women ages 25–34 with a bachelor's degree or higher.
