Hello reader Summer is back, however briefly. After last week's complaint about it being too hot and dry, it's done nothing but rain - until today! Washing is out and I'm craving easy summer desserts.
Luckily the British cherry season has begun. So I've layered up some cherries, amaretti biscuits and rose scented cream and called it this very cherry cream dessert. It's lush. Do you have a favourite easy fruit pudding for summer? Talking of roses, my special rose has a bud on it, so I will soon be making my first batch of this year's rose syrup. Just in time, as I finished off last year's making the rose cream for this week's recipe. Have you tried my rose syrup recipe? I use rose syrup a lot in the summer; it goes so well with summer berries and a lot of other fruit too. And it's ever so easy to make. Elderflower champagne continues to be the most popular post on Tin and Thyme at the moment. Mine is starting to fizz now, but I still need to hold on for another week.
