| Hey there, Some people would have you believe that the world is coming apart at the seams. This makes it easy to forget that no matter how grim things may look, there are people out there right now who are working tirelessly to improve conditions. People who are collectively making a positive difference in the lives of millions of others in a million different ways. If you ask me, these men and women qualify as bonafide heroes. They don't gripe about things that should change or simply "feel bad" for people who need help. They do something about it. While I'm no hero, I started Legion in the same spirit—to create the change I wanted to see in the sports supplements industry. And that's why I have a "Charity Week" every quarter where I donate a portion of Legion's sales to an outstanding nonprofit organization. Today is day one of this quarter's Charity Week, which means that . . . I'm going to donate a portion of this week's sales to The Ocean Cleanup, which is a nonprofit organization committed to helping rid the world's oceans of plastic waste. There's no cap on the donations either, so the more we sell, the more we give. In a nutshell, they develop advanced technologies that both prevent plastic from flowing into our oceans and clean up the flotsam already floating around. In the next 5 years, their mission is to take on 1,000 of the most polluting rivers in the world, and by 2040, they aim to reduce the floating ocean plastic by 90%. And why did we choose to support them over other options? Well, I'm working to make Legion more eco-friendly, and the first phase includes several things: 1. Replacing our plastic bottles with bags where possible (because bags require less plastic). This is already underway. 2. Switching to post-consumer recycled plastic bottles where bags won't work. This is looking promising, but I'm waiting on final pricing to see if the economics are viable. 3. Donating a portion of Legion's monies to help reduce and clean up plastic waste. This will further shrink Legion's plastic footprint. I have more initiatives planned, too, but those are the low-hanging fruit that I want to tackle first, starting with this Charity Week for The Ocean Cleanup.
