Pack a picnic basket and head outdoors! Picnic season is here and I am so excited for it! After a very long winter not being able to go anywhere, let's just say the arrival of picnic season is a literal breath of fresh air. Something magical happens when you eat food outside—the flavors seem bolder and brighter, bubbles seem bubblier and appetites expand to make the most of it. Picnic food doesn't need to be complicated but it does take a little extra thought and planning. You don't want to be worrying about reheating dishes or food spoiling or getting damaged on your travels. And anything that can be prepped in advance definitely makes life easier. This week I've got a lovely picnic menu for you! It's a collection of flavorful, summer-focused dishes that hit all the right notes for dining al fresco at the beach, on a mountain top, or on a picnic blanket in your own backyard. All dishes in my menu check the three most important criteria for picnic food. They: - Travel well
- Are delicious cold or ambient temperature
- Can be made in advance
Check out all dishes from my picnic menu below! For more inspiration, browse through the brand new category I added to my Recipe Index: Summer Picnic Dishes.
