Press Release FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: June 28, 2021 CONTACT: Lynn Sutfin, 517-241-2112, SutfinL1@michigan.gov State awards six contracts for COVID-19 vaccination to LANSING, Mich. – Six contracts totaling nearly $60 million have been awarded by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) to the help improve COVID-19 vaccination access for high-risk populations and settings across Michigan. "Providing mobile and other community-based vaccination services will help ensure high-risk individuals have access to the safe and effective COVID-19 vaccine," said Elizabeth Hertel, MDHHS director. "This is part of the state's efforts to bring vaccine into communities and to vaccinate as many Michiganders as possible. To date, more than 61% of Michigan residents have received at least their first dose of vaccine and we continue to urge everyone who is eligible to get theirs as soon as possible. There are several variants of the virus circulating in our state, including the concerning Delta variant, and we know the vaccine is our best protection against COVID-19." Bidders could offer statewide or regional services based on State of Michigan Prosperity Regions and six site or setting types were included in the RFP including:

The total value of the contracts will be based on actual usage/need based on site type and actual number of doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered. Contractors will be required to schedule appointments and manage all logistics involved in providing mobile vaccinations. Site Type 6 will be bid out to the awarded contractors on an as needed basis upon determination by the state.
