The COVID-19 pandemic created a crisis of gender inequity, setting back years of progress as women lost jobs at a higher rate than men and left the workforce in record numbers to take on the burden of unpaid child care. The World Economic Forum’s annual Global Gender Gap Report found COVID-19 set back gender equity decades.
