Time to enjoy summer berries! Summer is berry season and it starts early! As you read this, fresh local strawberries are probably already available at your local market and raspberries, if not already there too, are on their way. Berry desserts are some of my favorites to create and this week I'm sharing six recipes to help you make the most of those early berries: three juicy strawberry recipes and three sweet-tart raspberry recipes. I know you're going to love them! Strawberry Hazelnut Galette This Strawberry Hazelnut Galette is our star this week because it's a showstopper. With its rustic beauty, buttery shortcrust pastry, nutty hazelnut base, and juicy strawberries, it ticks all the boxes for a perfect summer berry dessert. But don't stop there! You can also easily make this galette again and again all summer long with other berries, peaches or even a mix of your favorite summer fruits. This dessert can be made in stages so you can work ahead if and when needed. Both the shortcrust pastry and the hazelnut financier batter can be made before you need them so all you have to do on baking day is assemble and add the strawberries! Serve this memorable galette with vanilla gelato or ice cream, or lightly sweetened whipped cream. | | Share your creations with me! Hearing from the people who make my recipes always makes my day! If you make any of the dishes this email, I'd love to hear about your experience. This White Chocolate, Strawberry, and Basil Gelato is one of my favorites. Strawberries and basil are two quintessential summer flavors and you might be surprised to learn they complement each other beautifully. I garnish nearly every strawberry dessert I make with a bit of basil because they suit one another so well! | | Pistachio Pudding with Strawberries | | | Individual desserts are always a hit—you don't have to share! These colorful Pistachio Puddings with Macerated Strawberries are not only colorful, but they hit all the right flavor and texture notes: nutty, creamy, juicy, crunchy, and sweet. This might be the most elegant way to wrap up a summer dinner party! Psst... In case you're wondering, "macerated" is a fancy word to describe berries that have rested in sugar for a little while to help them release all their natural juices. Easy peasy and so delicious! | | These juicy-looking Fresh Raspberry Squares are the bold summer cousin of lemon bars. The squares wonderfully combine sweet and tart flavors, and the easy, nutty base only makes them more addictive. Eat them all on their own to appreciate the full, bright flavors, or give them a dusting of powdered sugar right before serving for a festive look! | | This stunningly brilliant fuchsia Raspberry Rose Gelato is sure to be a summer showstopper. It's bursting with fresh raspberries and just a hint of floral rose for an elegant and intriguingly delightful flavor. No need to pair it with another dessert—this one deserves the spotlight all on its own! | | Rose Raspberry Fool Cream Puffs | | | Raspberry Fool is an easy summer dessert but if you have a special occasion to celebrate, why not turn the classic dessert into these delicate Rose Raspberry Fool Cream Puffs? They're so pretty and irresistible! Imagine them on a platter at a wedding, shower, afternoon tea, or a special birthday celebration! | | Looking for even more summer dessert ideas? | | | This summer, don't stop at strawberries and raspberries... make the most of cherries, peaches, apricots, and more! There are so many desserts just waiting to be made (and eaten)! I've put together a collection of 15 of my favorite summer desserts to make it easy for you to find something that suits any occasion: picnics, birthdays, brunches, or even gelato tasting menus (don't judge—it's summer!) | | That's it for today but I'd love to hear from you!
