The Best Gear We Tested in 2022 |
It's year-end wrap up time. So far the only end of year round-up I've gotten to my inbox has been from Spotify, which let me know that all of my top played songs came from the soundtrack to Disney Jr.'s Spidey and His Amazing Friends. Sigh. If you haven't gotten anything useful yet either, good news: Epi testing HQ has a lot to wrap up. We tried out more kitchen and cooking equipment this year than ever before, and picked a lot of new favorites in the process. There isn't space to put them all in this newsletter—we tested hundreds of items—so I'd encourage you to click through for a full rundown of everything we loved. But I did want to take a moment to acknowledge the massive amount of work that writers, editors, and contributors put into the project this year, in years past, and the work they'll put in again next year. The article this newsletter links to might look like it's just a list of products, but that list represents hundreds of hours spent chopping, searing, brewing, and mixing. If something gets labeled as "the best" on Epicurious it's not a piece of hyperbolic internet-ese. It's the result of a laborious process of testing and retesting. So a big thank you to the writers who filled their kitchens with gear over the last year to help Epi readers avoid buying any duds.
