The perfect way to warm up on a cold winter evening, this spiced rich and creamy mug of cocoa has a gentle kick (depending on how generous you are with the chilli powder) — hot chocolate doesn't get much better than this. | | | 250ml / 8.5 fl oz plant-based milk 1 cinnamon stick 40g / 1.5 oz 70% cocoa dark chocolate, finely chopped ½ tablespoon coconut sugar ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract pinch of chilli powder pinch of sea salt | | step 01 Pour the milk into a saucepan, add the cinnamon stick and bring to the boil. Take off the heat, cover and leave to infuse for 15 minutes. Remove the cinnamon stick, then return the saucepan to a low heat and whisk in the chocolate, sugar, vanilla extract, a pinch of chilli powder and salt. step 02 Continue to whisk occasionally for around 3 minutes until the chocolate has melted and the hot chocolate is thick, rich and creamy. | |
