FSIS Announces Update to Laboratory Testing Criteria for Escherichia coli (E. coli) O157:H7

FSIS is aligning the testing criteria for E. coli O157:H7 with that for non-O157 Shiga toxin-producing E. coli (STEC).

NACMCF Plenary Meeting in April

The National Advisory Committee on Microbiological Criteria for Foods (NACMCF) will convene a virtual meeting on April 22, 2021 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. ET. to discuss and vote on adopting the following two reports: 1) Microbiological testing by industry of ready-to-eat foods under FDA's jurisdiction for pathogens (or appropriate indicator organisms): verification of prevention controls and 2) The Use of Water in Animal Production, Slaughter and Processing.
