The European Commission is now launching a selection procedure to replace one of the members of the Management Board of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), whose mandate will expire on 30 June 2021. Candidates with a relevant background in organisations representing consumers and other interests in the food chain are of particular interest. Following the selection process, the Commission will draw up a list of candidates to send to the Council, which will then appoint the new memberto the Board in consultation with the European Parliament. The mandate of the new appointee will run until 30 June 2022. The term of office of the new member will be of approximately one year (depending from the date of actual appointment).
