Article Icon 1Judge Blocks Deportations Again

A federal judge in South Texas extended a temporary restraining order on Friday blocking the Trump administration from deporting Venezuelan migrants under the Alien Enemies Act.

The order was initially granted for three detainees but has now been expanded to cover other Venezuelans held in the region. The ruling follows a Supreme Court decision allowing deportations to resume if migrants are given due process.

The administration must report how many Venezuelans in the district could be affected ahead of an April 24 hearing.

A Texas man is suing Titans cornerback L'Jarius Sneed for at least $1 million, claiming Sneed or his assistant fired at him from a Lamborghini outside a Carrollton car dealership in December.

The lawsuit, filed in Dallas County, alleges Sneed and another suspect attempted "an unprovoked attack in cold blood and broad daylight," and includes a still image from surveillance footage showing an arm reaching out of a vehicle holding what appears to be a pistol.

The plaintiff, Christian Nshimiyimana, also claims he was later threatened by Sneed and a woman who identified herself as Sneed's mother to discourage cooperation with police.

Sneed, traded to the Titans last season, is among the NFL's highest-paid cornerbacks. The team says it is aware of the matter and has contacted NFL Security in line with league protocol.

Article Icon 1Texas Temps Tumble After Heat Spike

North Texas will roast under near-record heat today, with highs around 90 degrees and dry, gusty southwest winds raising fire concerns west of Highway 281.

It's a hot cap to a sunny weekend, with folks attending the Fort Worth Arts Festival enjoying clear skies and summerlike warmth.

But don't get too comfortable—change is coming fast. A cold front will sweep in tonight, sending temps tumbling by Monday. Expect highs to fall into the low 80s in DFW, with 50s overnight, and a steeper drop across the Panhandle.

The cooler air lingers through midweek up north, while Central and Southeast Texas hang onto the warmth a bit longer.
